Prayer is one of our core values.
We believe, stand on, and live the truth that God still responds to people’s prayers.
Prayer is just a part of who we are, and it particularly shows in three areas:
Prayer as Part of Worship
Prayer is a part of our worship service. Our altars are open during worship. People enter our service dealing with the trouble of last week and the worries of next week. This provides them an opportunity to do business with God. Some take the opportunity to enhance their worship with prayer of thanksgiving. Others find the opportunity to lay their burdens at Jesus feet. And others find it a time to work on their relationship with God. We have prayer partners that will prayer with you and some will pray over you, but they are available to join with you in prayer.
Sunday Night Prayer
We have a Sunday Night Prayer Service. The church is open on Sunday at 6:15 for a time of prayer. This is where the prayer ministry at Faith Outreach shines. At this prayer time each person is given the opportunity to share their prayer requests and needs and the group will intercede for those requests. God has moved in lives and hearts during this prayer time in amazing ways. Sunday Night Prayer also gives people a place to develop their ability to pray for others.
Worship and Warfare Night
Throughout the year, we have designated nights that are dedicated to worship and targeted prayer. Not only do we have and encourage passionate worship, it is also a time we gather corporately to engage in strategic prayer for prayer points we believe are vital to the church’s growing influence and impact on the community.
These three things are not the totality of our prayers. Many times, during times of need, we will share a prayer need or an individual in prayer need by sending a text message to our network of intercessors. These intercessors begin to lift the need to God.
Prayer is vital and necessary if we are going to accomplish all God has called us to do and at Faith Outreach prayer is not just something we do it is a part of who we are.
Below you will find some verses on prayer that we stand on:
18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
13 Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray.
18 The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
2 Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.
16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
